I didn't feel anything particular today.
Not sad. Not happy. Not anxious, not calm, not inspired, not drained. Just — present. Awake. Occupying space in the world without a narrative attached to it.
People find this hard to believe. They ask how you are and "no mood, just existing" isn't an acceptable answer so you pick something. Fine. Tired. Good, thanks. You hand them a feeling because that's what the social contract requires and you move on.
But privately? Some days are just days. No arc. No lesson. No emotional weather event.
I got dressed without thinking about it. That's actually rare for me — I usually have something going on that informs the choice. But today I just reached for the thing that felt like nothing in the best possible way. Soft. Familiar. A graphic that wasn't trying to say anything profound, just something true.
There's an underrated freedom in a day with no mood to dress for. You're not compensating for anything. Not projecting. Not armoring up. Just putting something on your body that feels like you on a day when you're not particularly anything.
That's still a version of you worth dressing well.
Maybe the most honest one.
