Calm Outfit. Catastrophic Inner Monologue.

Woman walking through a London street holding a coffee, wearing an oversized dark grey tee that reads "Clean, Contained, & Completely Lethal." — Worn In Public

Nobody knows.

That's the part I find almost impressive about myself on days like this. I'm furious — genuinely, completely furious — and I'm standing in a queue at the coffee shop making eye contact and saying "no, after you" like a person who has never once considered consequences.

The anger isn't loud. That's not how mine works. It's quiet and very organised. It has a list.

I got dressed this morning with the specific energy of someone who has already decided. Not decided to do anything — just decided. That internal shift where you stop negotiating with the situation and start simply knowing what you know. It changes how you move. How you stand. What you reach for in the wardrobe.

I didn't want colour. I didn't want anything that required explanation or invited conversation. I wanted something that said I am completely fine while meaning something else entirely. The tee. Dark. Straight. A graphic that does the talking so I don't have to.

There's a reason people say dress for the job you want. I was dressing for the version of myself that wasn't going to say the thing. The one who was going to walk through the day clean, contained, and completely lethal in the most polite possible way.

It worked. Mostly.

The inner monologue was catastrophic. Nobody saw it. That's the whole point.

The tee I wore when I had a lot to say and said none of it →
